Jesus sent his disciples out two by two, which appears in the Gospels of Mark and Luke.
This was to give them authority, power over spirits, and for them to support each other in their ministry of preaching the gospel and healing the sick.
The two-by-two plan was practical, as it allowed for a broader reach, mutual correction, and encouragement between the disciples.
