MY MESSAGE to YOU this 2020 
(as it appeared in StarLife Magazine December 28 2019 issue)

A Fruitful Year

John 15:4
“Abide in me, and I in you. 
As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, 
neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

The Year 2020 will be a fruitful year!

Guaranteed as you abide in God. As you abide in the LORD according to His Word and Will, you will be fruitful. Stay and remain in the only connection to real life – God.

Promises in the Bible are always conditional. There has to be faith exercised and expectation to receive rewards given from the One who makes the promise.

The year 2020 will be a fruitful one, a bountiful abundant splendid generous year!

The secret is to stay glued to the Lord. ABIDE … abide! When you do so, you exercise faith.

To abide in Christ continuously requires an earnest dependence upon the Holy Spirit who will always align us to the purposes of Christ. You may ask how? It begins with having a Faith Walk, then Moments of daily listening to the LORD through His WORD, the Bible, and wise counsel.

What other preachers said about abiding – what does it look like to abide in Christ daily?

A few descriptions from other men of God help us get a picture:

John Piper says, “Hour-by-hour abiding in Jesus means hour-by-hour trusting him to meet all your needs and be all our treasure.”

J.C. Ryle explains, “To abide in Christ means to keep up a habit of constant close communion with Him–to be always leaning on Him, resting on Him, pouring out our hearts to Him, and using Him as our Fountain of life and strength, as our chief Companion and Best Friend. To have His words abiding in us, is to keep His sayings and precepts continually before our memories and minds, and to make them the guide of our actions and the rule of our daily conduct and behavior.”

Erik Reed mentions, “a continual, hour-by-hour nature to it, a constant looking to Jesus through the Scriptures. If we could avoid gospel-amnesia and remember his grace, we could barely stand an hour’s absence from him. Being eager to say with King David, “Earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you”.

A conscious entering into a union with God that changes our lives forever together with joyful regular staying called communion.

Someone said, “Union with Christ without communion with Christ is joyless Christianity.”

People who are in communion and in connection with the Vine for our life and sustenance, will find themselves bearing fruit, producing more fruit and even harvesting fruit that will last forever!

As the year 2019 closes, and as the year 2020 bids hello, lets choose to abide in Christ who never changes and fills us with newness of fruit day by day, year by year, decade by decade and forever more to the glory of God the Father!

Exodus 18 (MSG)
“And then you need to keep a sharp eye out for competent men—men who fear God, men of             integrity, men who are incorruptible—and appoint them as leaders over groups organized by the thousand, by the hundred, by fifty, and by ten. They’ll be responsible for the everyday work of judging among the people. They’ll bring the hard cases to you, but in the routine cases they’ll be the judges. They will share your load and that will make it easier for you.”

THANKSGIVING ACTIVITY

I copied this ARTICLE for our
Day # 20 ... Thanksgiving Preparation at HIS LIFE.
(i only did not feature it this year at BTB, but in most of our past Thanksgiving at HIS LIFE)

THANKSGIVING DAY

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 
2 Corinthians 9:15 (NIV)

Let me call your attention to the most important “thanksgiving” we have to offer. 
We should give the greatest thanks for our greatest gifts. 
The Bible  reminds us that the gift of Jesus Christ is so great it is beyond description.

Thanks for that great a gift demands more than a card or a few words. 
Thanks to Jesus is given as we give our lives back to Him.
Emphasize the “give” in ThanksGIVEing this year! 

Give Jesus your past, depending on Him for forgiveness and freedom. 
Give Jesus your present, trusting in His direction for today. 
Give Jesus your future, count on Him for the hope that you need.

Family Thanksgiving Activity:   
Have each person in the family give a gift of thanks to Jesus as you celebrate Thanksgiving this year.  Sort of like Christmas, only it’s us doing the giving and God doing the receiving. 

Take the time to make this a special celebration! 
Here are a couple of ideas about how to specifically do this.

1. Write on a card the answer to the question, “The thing that I most want to thank Jesus for during this year 2019 is....”  Then take those cards and have each person wrap their card as a gift to Jesus.  Have an actual present opening where people open someone’s box or card or bag other than their own.  Read what each person in the family is thankful for.

OR

2. Make a “thanksgiving tree” and decorate it with statements of all the things that you’re thankful for as a family.  The tree can be one of your larger houseplants.  You could even tape them all over your refrigerator.  Make little slips of paper to write the thanks on and simply COVER the tree with statements of your gratitude to God!

are UNCOMMON  MENTORS

Various teachers will enter and exit your life.
The Holy Spirit is your dominant and most important Mentor of all (see John 14:15, 16).
But, a Mentor is trusted.

Wisdom determines the success of your life.
There are two ways to receive Wisdom:
     1) Mistakes;
     2) Mentors.

Mentors are the difference between
poverty and prosperity;
decrease and increase;
loss and gain; pain and pleasure; deterioration and restoration.

1.  An Uncommon Mentor is The Master Key to The Success of a Protege.
  "Wisdom is the principal thing" (Proverbs 4:7).


2.  An Uncommon Mentor Transfers Wisdom Through Relationship.
"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed"
      (Proverbs 13:20). Joshua knew this. "And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of
      Wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him:“ (Deuteronomy 34:9).

3.  An Uncommon Mentor Guarantees Your Promotion.
"Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace
      her.  She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to
      thee"  (Proverbs 4:8,9).

4.  An Uncommon Mentor Can Determine Your Wealth.
"Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness"  (Proverbs 8:18).

5.  An Uncommon Mentor Can Paralyze Your Enemies Against You.
     "For I will give you a mouth and Wisdom, which all  your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay
     nor resist" (Luke 21:15).

6.  An Uncommon Mentor Can Cause Influential People To Listen to You. 
     "And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of Wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon
     him:  and the children of Israel hearkened unto him..." (Deuteronomy 34:9).

7.  An Uncommon Mentor Will Require Your Pursuit.
He does not need what you know. You need what he knows. Elijah never pursued Elisha.
Elisha desired what was in him.  The Proof Of Desire Is Pursuit.

8.  An Uncommon Mentor is More Interested In Your Success Than Your Affection. 
His focus is not the celebration of you, but the correction, of you.

9.  An Uncommon Mentor is Not Necessarily Your Best Friend.

► Your Best Friend loves you the way you are.
          Your Mentor loves you too much to leave you the way you are.

►Your Best Friend is comfortable with your past.
          Your Mentor is comfortable with your future.

►Your Best Friend ignores your weakness.
          Your Mentor removes your weakness.

►Your Best Friend is your cheerleader.
          Your Mentor is your coach.

►Your Best Friend sees what you do right.
          Your Mentor sees what you do wrong.

UNCOMMON  MENTORS

An Uncommon Mentor Sees Things You Cannot See.
   He sees weaknesses in you before you experience the pain of them.
   He sees an enemy before you discern him.
   He has already experienced the pain of a problem you are about to create.

An Uncommon Mentor Will Become An Enemy To The Enemies Of His Protege.
   Jesus proved this. "Simon, Simon, behold, satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as   
   wheat;  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen
   thy brethren" (Luke 22:31,32).

An Uncommon Mentor will fight against any philosophy, pitfalls or prejudices that would rob the protege of experiencing complete success in his life.

An Uncommon Mentor Can Create An Uncommon Protege.
   Jesus took a fisherman and turned Peter into a master preacher.
   Everything you know will come through Mentorship, by, experience or a person.
   Invest everything to spend time and moments with an Uncommon Mentor God has chosen to sow
   into your life. Recognition Of An Uncommon Mentor Will Prevent A Thousand Heartaches.
