October 2025 Sermon Series EXALTING The God Like No Other

EXALTING
The GOD Like No Other

MAIN TEXT:

Psalm 86:8–10 (NASB)
8There is no one like You among the gods, Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours.
9 All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord,
And they will glorify Your name.
10 For You are great, and You do [a]wondrous deeds; You alone are God

OVERVIEW:

Psalm 86:8–10 is a powerful declaration of God’s uniqueness, greatness, and universal lordship, set within a personal prayer attributed to David.
These verses shift the focus from David’s personal plea for help to a broader reflection on who God is. David affirms that there is no one like God among the so-called gods, and that none can match His works—highlighting God's absolute uniqueness and superiority. He looks forward to a future where all nations, created by God, will come to worship Him and glorify His name.
This introduces a global and eschatological vision of worship that extends beyond Israel. Finally, this vision is grounded in God’s character: He is great, performs wondrous deeds, and alone is truly God. Together, these verses remind us that God is not only worthy of personal trust but also of global praise, and they affirm key theological themes such as monotheism, divine sovereignty, and the ultimate purpose of worship.

WEEKLY TITLES | SYNOPSIS | EMPHASIS

Kick- Off | Birthday Sunday
Exalting the God Like No Other

Text:
Psalm 86:8–10 (NASB)
8 There is no one like You among the gods, Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours.
9 All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord,
And they will glorify Your name.
10 For You are great, and You do [a]wondrous deeds; You alone are God.

This passage gives us a solid foundation for why we exalt God above all else. We praise Him not only because He is God, but because He has shown us His greatness through His works, His mercy, and His love. In a world full of distractions and false hopes, Psalm 86 calls us back to the truth: there is no one like our God.

Week 1 — Psalm 86:8
Week One | Communion Sunday
Exalting God for His Wisdom

Text: Psalm 86:8b (NASB)
8b Nor are there any works like Yours.
This verse reminds us that God is completely unique. People may look to other things—money, power, or success—but nothing compares to God. He alone does mighty works no one else can do.
God created the world, saves His people, and shows love and mercy every day. The psalmist says clearly: no one else deserves our trust and worship like God does.

🎯Preaching Focus:
Challenge the congregation to put their full trust in God alone—because no one is like Him, and no one works like He does.

Week 2 — Psalm 86:9
Week Two | Lifegroup and Divinity Sunday
Exalting God to Make Him Known

Text: Psalm 86:9 (NASB)
9 All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, Lord,
And they will glorify Your name.

This verse reminds us that God is the Creator of all people, and one day, every nation will come to worship Him. It’s a picture of unity—where people from every background and culture will give God the glory He deserves.
Right now, many do not know or worship God, but this verse gives us hope. It points to a future where God’s greatness will be known everywhere.

🎯Preaching Focus:
Encourage the church to see God’s heart for all people and take part in His mission—sharing His love so that one day, all will worship and glorify His name.

Week 3 — Psalm 86:10
Week Three | Facility Sunday
Exalting God for His Greatness

Text: Psalm 86:10 (NASB)
10 For You are great, and You do [a]wondrous deeds; You alone are God.

This verse is a clear reminder that God is great not just in name, but in action. He does amazing things that no one else can do—He creates, heals, provides, and saves. His works show us His power and love.
The psalmist ends with a strong truth: “You alone are God.” That means there is no one else we should worship, trust, or follow. Only God can truly change lives and do the impossible.

🎯Preaching Focus:
Call the church to focus their hearts on God alone—the One who does great things and deserves all our praise.
