------------
COACHING for CLARITY thoughts

John Maxwell taught us that there are leadership lids that limit our capacity as leaders.
The good news is we can learn how to lift those lids in order to rise above those limitations that keep us leading at a low capacity.

Here are 7 leadership lid lifters that will definitely catapult you as you go for the NEXT 1000:

  1. Never Accept Average – Words such as ordinary, typical, usual, status quo are the results of leaders that are on cruise control. Above average leaders have their foot on the gas pedal of their organizations and are always looking for ways to improve things and push things forward bringing life and energy to their environment.  Average leaders often times have their foot on the brake, killing the momentum of their organization and any excitement associated with anything new that will cause the life and vision of the organization to unfold.
  2. Refuse to be Comfortable – Leaders grow the most when the deliberately put themselves in uncomfortable situations. Sometimes the uncomfortable means stepping out in your weakness and acknowledging that there are others who could help you or do it better than you and allowing them to do it. On other occasions it’s doing something different than everyone else is doing.
  3. Insist on Integrity – Life is too short to put up with people that have no integrity. A leader without integrity has fallen into self-deception and will only lead an organization into the ground.
  4. Rub Shoulders with High Capacity Leaders – Connecting with high capacity leaders is essential if you want to lift your lid as a leader. If you are frustrated with where you are at as a leader and the status of where your organization is, find a leader leading an organization at the level where you want to be and learn from them. In today’s social media world you can connect easily with leaders that are looking to pour into your life as a leader. Make that call, send the tweet, leave a comment on their blog. Rubbing shoulders might not begin with a face to face, but when you take the initiative to connect it can open a door to get you to your desired destination.
  5. Replace Yourself – If you are not raising up a person to replace you, you are ignoring one of the signs of  great leadership; the ability to develop others around you.  Lifting your leadership lid requires not being threatened by the leaders coming behind you, placed below you, or who have went before you.  If insecurity is keeping you from duplicating yourself you are failing the litmus test of leadership. If you don’t know who is your successor there you will not have true leadership success.
  6. Be a Life Long Learner  – If you fail to keep learning you will fail to keep leading.  When you get to a place where you think you know it all, you won’t grow at all!
    1. Here are several things I do to make sure I’m always learning.
      1. Have a Regular Devotional Life
      2. Regularly Read the Greatest Book Ever Written (The Bible)
      3. Read Books about Topics you are Passionate About (Biographies, Doctrinal, Strategy, Investments, Leadership, Trends)
      4. Blog and Interact with other Bloggers
      5. Listen and Learn a lot from Podcasts
      6. Meet with another Leader at Least Once a Month
      7. Realize that the Ultimate LID LIFTER is Papa God Himself!
  7. Do not forget, Jesus said, YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH and YOU ARE THE LIGHT of the WORLD!  He believes in you!  YOU ARE HIS representative here on earth!     YOU ARE appointed to BE THIS… now!

------------
YOU cannot BE a Pastor of 1000 people if you are employing ideas and methods of pastoring only a HUNDRED!
Your MIND, WORDS, ACTS, PRAYERS and BEHAVIOR must change!
This includes the BOOKS you read and the PEOPLE you hang out with.

------------
YOU must LEAD LEADGROUPS instead of LIFEGROUPS.
A LEAD Group is composed of LifeGroup Leaders who has the passion to make quality disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

------------
YOU must READ Books and Articles on HOW to Pastor the Multitudes.
Multitudes and LARGE groups are only led through TEAMS of shepherds that believe the Vision together with you.

------------
YOU must 1st be a LEADER of LEADERS
Grow leaders under you that will disciple others.
Grow leaders under you that will teach others.

YOU must 1st be a LEADER of LEADERS
Grow leaders under you that will organize CrossOvers without you!!!
did you get that?  WITHOUT YOU :-)

------------
YOU must 1st be a LEADER of LEADERS
leaders under you that will Grow leaders that you are willing to unleash to PASTOR others without you!!!  did you get that?  WITHOUT YOU :-)

A SERIES Sampler from our YOUTH MINISTRY

This month of AUGUST 2016,
our youths at HisLife called as YX are getting ready
for another round of Evangelism and Discipleship.
They created this SERIES below.

------------
"Bahay ni Kuya" based on the primetime reality show PBB;
highlights the following:

Big Brother - a guide, leader, mentor, a father figure, someone who implements rules, appoints tasks, applies punishment, gives rewards

Housemates - individuals from various backgrounds, living temporarily in the vicinity “Bahay”, expected to obey/comply – compete with each other for survival, work together to accomplish tasks, and are always at risk of being eliminated.

Objectives
Series goals for the pre-believers and believers alike to:
i. See and appreciate the Person of God as the Holy Spirit;
ii. in that way, we come to be completely obey God with the Spirit
iii. Live a victorious life just as it was already accomplished by Christ on the Cross

1. The Big Reveal
John 14:26

"Ang singing diva ng Bacolod...." , "Hunk dude ng Pasig.".. are among the short descriptive words to tease and excite the television viewers about the housemates they might be seeing in the incoming season of PBB.

Jesus, who was prophesying of his death and going back to the Father, left his disciples with [grief]. But He did not stop there. He also promised them that as soon as he gets back to heaven, he will be sending an "advocate" / "helper" Who will empower them even with Jesus not being physically present. They were [puzzled] who this "advocate" is.

The BIG REVEAL not only unmasked the Spirit; the Big Reveal brought sanctification
(Galatians 5:16-18) among believers, and It also dwelt among us so that we become like Christ.

2. The Confession Room
Romans 8:2    1 John 1:9    Proverbs 28:13    Romans 3:23    John 8: v32 and v. 36

Every Housemate gets into the Confession Room for many purposes.
This is the one room where a housemate gets a chance to a more personal conversation with Kuya such as receiving incoming tasks, assessing difficult emotions, addressing an interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts, and many others. Often, the conflicts get resolved because Kuya wants everyone in the house to be free from conflict and hard feelings.

[Walking in the Spirit] and as a growing believer of Christ, we become more aware of our sinful nature.  Thus, confession of sin is necessary in order to acknowledge that we are in need to be cleansed. To confess would lead us to repent. This is how a Christian lives in freedom.

3. Ang Hamon ni Kuya
Romans 15:13    1 Timothy 4:12    2 Corinthians 5:7

Sa Bahay ni Kuya, the housemates are assigned ultimately challenging daily tasks, weekly tasks, and even special /secret tasks. Failure is associated with consequences, and success with rewards.
Most times they worry --should they fail to accomplish a task.

However, in the Kingdom of God, we have been tasked in our daily lives to work in His vineyard (Matthew 28: 19). Tasks come in many form, but all of it takes faith because God will definitely call us to get out of our comfort zone. Now that we are filled with the Spirit and thus have freedom from sin, we should ready ourselves to walk on waters.

[Suggestion: This topic gives emphasis that obedience best demonstrates our faith-filled life, and our reward is beyond compare – immeasurable: our reward is Christ Himself]

4. The Big Winner
2 Corinthians 2:14    Romans 8:37    1 Corinthians 15:57

To conclude a hyped season, the show announces the BIG winner as decided by the number of votes/preference of the viewers.

In contrast, God has already spelled out our victory soon after The Fall of Man (Adam and Eve), and the prophets have whispered between the lines about the coming of the "victor."
The finished work on the cross gives us evidence that VICTORY is already at hand in the name of Jesus.

[May also emphasize: it is not us who chooses the victor. Our God heaven chose and sacrificed Jesus for us. Jesus walked in obedience]

JUBILEE Church: HOW They Prepare for an ENCOUNTER WEEKEND

It is always good to be learning from others.
Learn from what God has been doing through others.

BELOW is the Guideline on how a church [JUBILEE, USA] prepares for their WEEKEND ENCOUNTERS.
A MUST READ FOR ALL LEADERS

------------
ENCOUNTER TEAM PREPARATION MANUAL

>>>>ORGANIZATION

WHERE SHOULD THE ENCOUNTER BE CARRIED OUT?
It is preferable to be from the city.
If that is not possible, it could be at a venue where people can spend three uninterrupted days together. It could be in a conference centre, hotel or leisure centre.

PARTICIPANTS
Only those who have gone through the Pre-encounter should take part.
The group should be homogenous – men, women, young men or young women or married couples. Boys and girls can participate together in the Children’s Encounters.

COST
The price fixed to cover the Encounter expenses. The disciple should pay his own costs.

DURATION
They generally take place at weekends, beginning on Friday evening, all day Saturday and
finishing sometime on Sunday afternoon.

SIZE OF THE GROUP
We aim for each of the twelve to take approximately six people to the Encounter making an
average of seventy two people. The coordinator will have twelve guides to help with the ministry.
Every guide should make sure that every participant is fully ministered to. That way one guide is
not overloaded.
The team consists of a spiritual guide, a coordinator and a group of guides.
The team should have been trained in the different ministries, during the previous one or two months.

THE TOPICS
Encounters are for homogenous groups; therefore the topics are prepared according to the needs
of each group.
Topics covered include: What is a True Encounter, Repentance - Coming to the Father, Joy of Forgiveness, Redemption Plan, Breaking Curses - The Peniel Experience, Faith to
Heal the Soul, Vision for Success, Getting to know the Scriptures, Family, Water Baptism,
Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Importance of the Post Encounter.

REQUIREMENTS
The encounter is residential; no one may leave before it ends.
Each person attending should fill in a registration form, complete the Pre-encounter and arrive well prepared and with an open heart.

>>>> TEAM FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SPIRITUAL GUIDE
Cares for the spiritual well being of the team during the preparation as well as during the actual
Encounter. The Spiritual Guide should also:
• Ministers to the team
• Go over the lectures assigned to the guides
• Promote team work
• Minister at the main lectures throughout the Encounter such as: Deliverance, Inner Healing and Repentance.

COORDINATOR
Coordinates every activity within the Encounter, both at the spiritual and administrative level:
On a spiritual level the Coordinator:
1. Prepares the spiritual atmosphere of the Encounter through his own personal efforts and
that of the team.
2. Asks God for a specific word for the Encounter and then shares it with the team. This is
an essential, because through prayer God will give a Rhema Word and reveal His specific
plan for people in each particular Encounter.
3. Encourages and guides the team in prayer, fasting and spiritual warfare for the Encounter.
4. Encourages prayer, watches over the unity and holiness of the team and its sensitivity to
the Holy Spirit.
5. Motivates the team to pray on a daily basis for the Encounter and engage in spiritual
warfare against any opposition that may arise before or during the Encounter.
6. Organises a prayer and fasting chain during the preparation for the Encounter.
7. Supervises and evaluates the Encounter, ensuring that all the goals have been met.
8. Ministers the Post-encounter in order to support and strengthen all the teaching received
in the Encounter and continues to oversee the development of each person who attended
the Encounter.

On an administrative level, the Coordinator:
1. Plans, organizes and supervises the actual activity of the Encounter, delegating duties to
each guide.
2. Ensures that the preparation is done.
3. Allocates the groups of people and evaluates whether each person who attends has been
discipled properly.
4. Chooses an intercession team for the preparation and development of the Encounter.
5. Delegates lectures to the guides, then supervises and evaluates the fulfillment of goals for
each lecture.

GUIDES
1. They need to be extremely familiar with the Encounter material.
2. Aim to take between six to ten people to the Encounter.
3. Learn, study and know the lectures, which they have been allocated.
4. Prepare themselves by prayer and fasting.
5. Communicate with their designated group during and after the Encounter.
6. Seek unity and interaction with the other guides, having a humble spirit and a servant
heart, always being polite and pleasant, prudent in words and with a Christian attitude.
7. Disciple each one of the people they have invited.
8. Ensure that after the Encounter and Post-Encounter, every person will be placed in a cell,
the School of Leaders and is being discipled by a G12 leader, starting on the Ladder of
Success and on their way to becoming a leader in their own right.
9. Look out for and follow up on individuals who need further ministry at and after the
encounter.

Team Preparation Lesson No. 1

“Now the Lord said to Abram: Get out of your country, from your family and from your
father’s house, to a land that I will show you. And I will make you a great nation; and I will bless
you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those who bless you
and I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall blessed.
“(Genesis 12:1-3).

Verse to memorise
“And I will make you a great nation; and I will bless you and make your name great; and you
shall be a blessing.”(Genesis 12:2)

GOALS
To make the guides understand the importance of their responsibility, so that they are successful
in their task.

INTRODUCTORY QUESTIONS
Are you sure of your calling?
A calling is a gift from God for each one of His children. Abraham was not seeking a call, but it
pleased God to reveal himself to him and to call him.

RESPONDING TO THE CALL
Though the call to Abraham came directly from God, it was up to him to believe it, obey it and
respond to it.
We find some interesting aspects in Abraham’s life about how he responded to the call.
a. Immediate obedience. He did not wait for weeks or months, but he immediately
responded to the divine call.
b. Total obedience. Abraham obeyed every word that the Lord revealed to him.
c. Genuine faith. The faith of Abraham was as pure as a child’s he never doubted
any of the words God gave him.
d. Perserverance. Abraham did not look at the circumstances but believed that God
would be faithful in what He had promised to do.

BENEFITS OF RESPONDING TO THE CALL
It pleases God. God was so pleased with Abraham’s response to each one of the tests that He put
him through that he decided to establish an intimate relationship with him.
It made the promise of God real in his life.
Abraham became a friend of God. God established His covenant with him and all his
descendants. He then received the anointing for multiplication.

CONCLUSION
Just as Abraham believed Jehovah and it was counted to him for righteousness so every
Guide should believe God be sure of his calling and respond faithfully to it.

APPLICATION
Minister to the guides, leading them through every point explained above and to value and take
their calling to lead the people of God.

Team Preparation Lesson No. 2

“To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without
fear in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life” (Luke 1:74-75)

GOALS
To teach every guide to value holiness and to remain holy as a key to seeing God’s power in
their lives.

INTRODUCTORY QUESTION
What benefits does a holy life bring?
To be holy is to have been chosen and set apart by God before the foundation of the world. God
chose us for his service and He does not share us with anything or anyone.
The benefit that a holy life brings is that God will be able to use you.
In Judges13:25 God sanctified Samson that he would be full of the Spirit of God enabling him to deliver the people of Israel.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A LEADER
1. Chosen by God in times of crisis
2. Is given supernatural strength
3. Boundaries are set to maintain his integrity
4. Is given the task to bring freedom to the people of Israel

WHAT CAN TAKE AWAY OUR HOLINESS?
1. Excessive confidence in the flesh
2. Playing with temptation
3. Excessive self confidence
4. Being unequally yoked with an unbeliever
5. Giving in to pressure from other people (See Judges 15 and 16)

CONSEQUENCES OF LOSING ONE’S HOLINESS
1. You become a slave of your enemies
2. You completely lose the vision of God
3. You are mocked and ridiculed
4. You suffer slander and are treated badly
5. You die

HOW IS HOLINESS RESTORED
1. Genuine repentance
2. Plead for God’s favor
3. Ask for the renewal of the anointing
4. Commit to accomplish your task faithfully

CONCLUSION
Samson, though was the strongest man in the world, did not care about his relationship with God
and this brought his destruction. Every believer, no matter how strong spiritually, exposed
himself to the same potential disaster as Samson if he is not careful to continually walk with God.

APPLICATION
During the ministry time we should lead the guides to examine themselves, recognize their
failures and in a simple way ask the Lord to forgive, restore and renew their relationship with
Him.

Team Preparation Lesson No. 3

“The righteous should choose his friends carefully for the way of the wicked leads them astray”
(Proverbs 12:26)
Verse to memorise
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God (Romans 8:14)
GOALS
To motivate the guide to carry out his task with all the diligence that the work of God demands.

INTRODUCTORY QUESTION
What does it mean to be a guide?
“ However, when he, the Spirit of Truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth; for He will
not speak on his own authority, but whatever He hears he will speak; and he will tell you things
to come” (John 16:13)
To be a guide is to be a representative of Jesus on earth. It is to communicate faithfully the
message that has been assigned, to be a watchman and warn concerning the future, to be a person
under authority. As Romans 13:1 says: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.
For there is no authority except from God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

IMPORTANCE OF THE PREPARATION
A guide should be well balanced and properly prepared.
On a spiritual level he should know the Bible and study it in depth. He should have strong
relationship with God through prayer and fasting.
On a personal level he should excel in everything he does and promote unity within the team.

THE GUIDE’S ATTITUDE
• The correct attitude always comes as a result of being in God’s presence.
• Has a humble and serving attitude.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45)
• Allows God to take and mould his life.
• Has authority because of the transparency of his ways.
• Treats everyone equally, with no preferences.
• Identifies himself with the suffering of other people.

CONCLUSION
The guide’s work should be done with excellence and discipline, as it will help the spiritual
growth of those who attend the Encounter.

APPLICATION
During the ministry time lead the guides to reflect on every aspect of this teaching and lead them
into a radical commitment to serve with excellence.

Team Preparation Lesson No. 4

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13)
Verse to memorise
“And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude and He was moved with compassion for
them and healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14)

GOALS
To make the guide understand the importance of knowing the desire of God’s heart, which is to
save the lost because of His great love and compassion.

INTRODUCTORY QUESTION
What is love with compassion?

INTRODUCTION
Jesus gave us the example of real love by giving His life in our place, showing God’s love for
humanity through the cross.
God gives all His love without reservation. According to Matthew 14:14, Jesus had compassion
and made every effort to meet them. Compassion makes us like Jesus who has compassion for
people and meets their needs.

WHY SHOULD WE HAVE LOVE AND COMPASSION?
It is the desire of God’s heart.
“So I sought for a man among them that should make a wall and stand on the gap before Me on
behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it but I found no one” (Ezekiel 22:30)
It is a commandment.
“These things I command you, that you love one another.” (John 15:17)

HOW DO WE EXPRESS LOVE AND COMPASSION?
• Understanding man’s condition without God.
• Putting ourselves in someone else’s place.
• Feeling a burden for the needs of another.
• Crying out with all our heart for mercy.
As the prophet Daniel did – in chapter 9 – when he turned to God in prayer and supplication.
Identifying with the sins of the people, as if he had sinned, and then confessing them before God,
and pleading for forgiveness, the favor and divine mercy.

CONCLUSION
Jesus gave us the example of the greatest love and compassion. These were the reasons why He
came into the world. In the same way, we should make every effort to follow Him and fulfill His
commandments.

APPLICATIONS
During the ministry time, acknowledge the hardness in our hearts to the needs of others and ask
for real love and divine compassion.

Team Preparation Lesson No. 5

“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be united
into another man” (1Samuel 10:6)

GOAL
To teach every guide to depend completely on the Holy Spirit for every task that is assigned to
them.

INTRODUCTORY QUESTION
What does it mean to depend on the Holy Spirit?
To depend on the Holy Spirit means:
1. To trust and be dependent totally on him
2. Complete surrender of our life
3. Be sensitive to His voice
4. Immediate obedience

HOW TO DEPEND ON THE HOLY SPIRIT
“I, the Lord, search the heart, I try the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, and
according to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:10)

We can see in this verse four aspects that would help us to lead by the Holy Spirit.
1. Let Him search your mind through His word.
2. Stay firm in the midst of trials
3. Remain in the right path without deviating.
4. Permanently bear fruit in the ministry allotted to us.

CONCLUSION
If we want complete success in everything we do, we should depend totally on the Holy Spirit.
As the Lord told us through the prophet Zechariah: “Not by might, nor by power, but by My
Spirit, says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6)

APPLICATION
Let there be a complete surrender of our lives to the Holy Spirit, renouncing any blockage –
whether fears, insecurities, complexes, traumas or sins – let the Holy Spirit fill every area of our
lives.

Capital Campaign Thoughts

Our Capital Campaign

Capital Stewardship Campaign Tips

What a Capital Stewardship Program Is and Is Not

A capital campaign program is a spiritual work, not a financial one.
A campaign is about understanding there is a Kingdom need and a Kingdom provision to meet that need. It’s about developing an understanding of Godʹs perfect plan of providence to meet the need
through the proper stewardship of His people.

A capital campaign is:
• A program wherein God’s people come together in equalsacrifice to provide funds for building.
• A time of spiritual growth and faith building that stirs the heart and spirit.
• A Biblical process that results in a
3‐year giving commitment,
normally raising between 1 and 3 times current annual giving in tithes and offerings.

A capital campaign is not about high pressure tactics, brow beating, trickery, guilt, or heavy handed tactics to “fleece the sheep” of their money. It is a time of learning, spiritual growth, and prayerful
consideration of how God would have each one respond to the need.

Goals of a Capital Stewardship Campaign

The overall goals of a capital campaign are to communicate information, impart excitement, and provide for spiritual needs through clear preaching, teaching and prayer. The primary goal
should never be considered as that of just raising money; money is a by‐product of doing everything else well.

It might be said that the goal of the campaign is to develop wisdom in the body. The scriptures say we are to pursue knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Wisdom is the proper application of
Biblical understanding. Through teaching and preaching, knowledge and understanding are gained, and through prayer is gained the wisdom to know how God would have us apply this knowledge and understanding.

Organizing Your Capital Campaign Team
A capital campaign is a complex operation that requires months to properly prepare and then execute. The capital campaign executive team needs to be properly staffed by the right directors, and provided clear objectives with job descriptions. Note that those people may not be who you think.
Generally speaking your campaign team should not be made up of financial people such as CPAʹs, bankers, treasures, etc.
A capital campaign team should be organized into sub‐teams with discreet areas of responsibility, with each sub‐team being headed by a director who sits on the executive campaign team. Each of these directors should have experience and gifting according to their particular responsibility. Each
director then recruits people to serve with them.

Timing Your Capital Campaign
There are three primary timing considerations for a capital campaign: how early you should begin
a stewardship campaign before building, the best time(s) of the year to execute a campaign, and the amount of time required to properly prepare for a capital campaign.
Churches often wait until they are ready to start building before they begin a capital campaign, or they wait until they find they cannot qualify for a loan before belatedly starting a campaign. Ideally,
a church should start a campaign at least a year before they are going to approach the bank and/or begin construction.
Churches often don’t understand how long it takes to properly prepare for and execute a capital campaign.
A proper capital campaign is a complex series of events that cannot be rushed. Organizing, equipping
and preparing for a campaign can easily take 3 months or more. If you wish to be in front of the congregation to raise money in the spring, preparation should begin the previous fall, and likewise
a fall campaign should really begin in the spring.

Key Verses For A Capital Campaign
The Biblical basis of capital campaigns (as in special offerings) for building programs can be found in:
• Moses building the tent of the tabernacle in Exodus, chapters 25, 35, & 36.
• David preparing to build the temple in 1 Chronicles 29:2‐9.
• The rebuilding of the temple and Jerusalem’s walls in Ezra, Nehemiah & Haggai.

One of the key verses for a capital campaign is found within one of the best discourses on giving and money which span chapters 8 & 9 of 2 Corinthians. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” ( 2 Cor 9:8).

You are expecting your people to step out in faith according to how they believe God is leading them, and this faith can only be found in the scriptures, “for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Top Mistakes Churches Make In Capital Stewardship
It is said a wise man learns from his mistakes, but perhaps a truly wise man learns from the mistakes of others. To that end, in order to help you be wise, and help your church avoid the common pitfalls encountered in capital campaigns, here are the top mistakes churches make in capital stewardship
programs. These are not in any particular order, as the seriousness of each of these common mistakes will vary from church to church, and situation to situation.

• Failure to get professional assistance. Doing it on your own will typically result in giving that is only ½ or ⅓ what it would have been in a professionally facilitated campaign.

• Waiting until the church is ready to build to start a campaign. By starting the campaign 1, 2, or even 3 years before building, you will have more money at the beginning of your program, you may need to borrow less, or you may qualify for a larger loan.

• Focusing on the building as a goal instead of increased ministry. Its not about the building, it’s about ministry.  People will be encouraged to give by a new building, but sacrificial giving comes from meeting ministry needs.

• Not realizing the positive impact a campaign can have on lending ability. Many lenders require a capital campaign in order to qualify your church for a loan.

• Not preaching and teaching in a clear, challenging, uncompromising, and unapologetic manner on what the scriptures say about giving. This should be self‐explanatory, but just in case, read Malachi 1.

SIMPLE COUNCIL

His Life Ministries is a TEAM -LED Group!
We have a Council.

They all come from our Senior Pastor's SMALL GROUP.
Together with their Spouses they pray and seek God's direction for the church and the movement.

Evangelism, Discipleship and Leadership is their thrust, compliant with the set standards of Righteousness [Accounting; Legalities; Etc] based on the Word of God, the Bible.

They are given the mandate from God's Word to be the Final Decision Making Body at His Life Ministries concerning all church affairs.

UNANIMOUS Decisions is the GOAL!
Meaning:  If we are not TOTALLY UNITED over a matter, we put it aside for more prayer and discussion till the right time and season it has to be addressed again.

We are totally rallying around the Vision Making Disciples for the Glory of God, thus:  Glorify God, Make Disciples.

We may meet as REGULAR as we can -- once a month or once a Quarter.

BE FILLED 2016-2017

Biennial 2016-2017 reaches her 6th month already [as of this writing].
We have 18 more months to GO!

============

LET ME REVIEW our GOALS for this BIENNIAL 2016-2017:

These are more than written GOALS
          - this is Faith Expression
          - this is Dream for Kingdom Advancing while being FILLED with the Spirit
          - this is with an Eternal Perspective
          - this is loving and transforming our NATION
          - this is making Disciples and glorifying God!

#1 GOAL COUNT for LIFEGROUP LEADERS
will be 2000 LIFEGROUP LEADERS.

#2 GOAL COUNT for NATIONAL ACCUMULATED ATTENDANCE
will be 20,000 people
[THIS INCLUDES Campus, Community, Celebration CHURCHES and CORNERS]

#3 GOAL COUNT:  That we will have a NSEW City-Wide Strategy of Harvest and Discipleship
in these following CITIES of THE PHILIPPINES:
Manila [LUZON]
Cebu
Iloilo
Cagayan.
*NOTE:  Bacolod has already fulfilled the NSEW spread.

============
HOW TO REACH THIS STRATEGICALLY after
PRAYER,
MIND-SETTING [mind-set of BATTLESHIP vs CruiseShip*]
and
BUDGETING:

1 -- We reach the 2000 count for LIFEGROUP LEADERS
when all our NETWORKS train and train and graduate people to be LIFEGROUP LEADERS serving in KM, WOD, UNWIND, YX.  Let there be a TRAINORS REVOLUTION through our LTS in each locality.

2 -- We reach the 20,000 Total Accumulated Attendance
when we give birth to NEW churches via our MISSION LAUNCH PROGRAM.
We must LAUNCH churches every QUARTER.
If each SITE, CORNER, GROUP just starts 1, we may then reach the total accumulative attendance of 20,000 people.

#3 -- We will see manifest the NSEW in
Manila,
Cebu,
Iloilo,
Cagayan and even BEYOND ASIA,
when we deliberately SURVEY, STUDY COMMUNITIES, and literally START GROUPS within the next 90 DAYS!

============
ONLY BELIEVE JESUS COMMAND to spread, to go and be A SENT ONE!
============
*cruise-ship | battleship MIND-SET

CHOOSE
cruise-ship | Battleship
============
1 It is all about the passengers (hassle-free) | All about the mission of the nation (victory)
2 Pay for a temporary ride (people on vacation) | Don’t pay for the ride (all people serve)
3 Brings temporary happiness to the flesh | Brings joy after accomplishing the mission
4 Music and dance for the passengers | Horn for battle (worship is warfare)
5 Captain and crew liked/disliked by passengers | Captain submits to a higher authority
6 Service may be good or bad | Sacrifices are made to support the mission
7 Is there to meet the needs of the passengers | The ship & crew are equipped for warfare
8 Ride has to be pleasant for the travelers | Life is on the line … (dangerous situations)
9 It is all about getting comfortable and complacent | Uncomfortable bunks with regular battles
10 Just there for the ride and the crew to serve them | Able to equip, serve and deploy their talents

LEGENDARY 2016

Kicking Off the "LEGENDARY" mind-setting changed everything :-)
[i shared this to 3 different HLM Sites/Corners this week]

it was about CHOOSING between:

satisfied
happy
thrilled
WOW!

============

A Legendary Experience  …

NEVER
Dull
Boring
Just Business As Usual
Regular
EVEN JUST THE BEST!
But LEGENDARY …

1.
“The goal as a church team of worship leaders and workers is to have a CHURCH CELEBRATION that is NOT JUST THE BEST, but legendary.”
DID YOU CATCH THAT?

Not just the BEST ... but LEGENDARY!

BEST is from our PERSPECTIVE;
while LEGENDARY is FROM the experience effect of OTHERS / PARTICIPANTS.

2.
“The VISITOR’s, GUESTS, GOERS perception is your reality.”
The meaning of this is ... YOU HAVE TO SEE THINGS from the EYES of the GOERS and WORSHIPPERS.

Do they feel great and good?
It is not about HOW WE FEEL ... but HOW THEY FEEL!
Make sure to HONOR GOD and LOVE PEOPLE as we do this ROLE play.
Be careful to be MENpleasers :-)

------------
*never be a man pleaser!!!
but be an exceptional blesser of people!!!
------------

YET make sure to BLESS and be a BLESSING to everyone who has come!

3.
“If you do build a great WEEKEND experience, the people will tell each other about that.
SO ... the power of word of mouth will take place.
PEOPLE will invite PEOPLE!
It is not anymore the WITNESS TEAM who will just invite.
IT WILL NOW BE everyone who was blessed who will!

============
THINK:

making this "CHAIR" legendary.
Use imagination and creativity and invention.

making this "OPENING CALL to WORSHIP" legendary.
Use imagination and creativity.

making this "BENEDICTION" legendary.
Use imagination, the excellence of the LORD as focus.

making this "FEATURE" legendary.
Use imagination, creativity, art and more.

making this "CHILDREN'S CHURCH" legendary.
Use imagination and lots of it!

making this "YOUTH GROUP" legendary.
Use wilder imaginations and creativity!

making this "DRESS CODING" legendary.
Use powerful creativity and imagination.

Synonym Discussion of LEGENDARY

fabulous, legendary, apocryphal mean having the nature of something imagined or invented.
fabulous stresses the marvelous or incredible character of something without necessarily implying impossibility or actual nonexistence.
mythical implies a purely fanciful explanation of facts or the creation of beings and events out of the imagination

THE 24:24 Vision! (2 Samuel)
"But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them."

  • NO to FREEBIES
  • NO to REGULAR
  • NO to non-SACRIFICIAL
  • NO to NOT SEEING the MAJESTY of THE LORD
  • NO to cheap things
  • NO to NO EFFORT
  • YES to SACRIFICIAL GIFTS and OFFERINGS
  • YES to BEING LEGENDARY!

SECRET to MAKING DISCIPLES: A RADICAL RECRUITMENT TOOL

I am sharing to you a RADICAL TOOL in recruiting leadership at His Life YX core group.  This letter is from Trixie (my wife) since she is the one who pastors this team of radicals [this was written years ago, but still in effect today as she would recruit a new one after a new one throughout the years].

Here it goes ...

Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord!

After more than 3 months, I will be going back to youth ministry officially this April 1.
I praise the Lord for all the great and good things He has done in me and my family as well as among you in YX. I thank Him too for laying down things in my heart while I was away.
We all have sensed in our spirits that something big is coming in God's Kingdom, in the church, in our nation, in our personal lives and only those who are ready or more correctly stated have made themselves ready can perceive, receive and participate in it.
It is in this light that I am writing this letter to you because the very first thing that I need to settle is the leadership condition. There is a need for us to reconsider the decision we have made when we took the leadership challenge ... we all need to know that this is no light matter anymore considering what is required of us in the coming move of God...because when we do not count the cost well and see if we can pay the price, we can end up as casualties.

This will not only affect us but others, too.

I need you to evaluate yourself if you are able to do the following:

  1. Be honest about who you really are before me and others (no pretensions of who you are not and no walls and masks).
  2.  Have a discipline of quiet time daily - reading the Bible and meditating on God's Word and praying (and not cute prayers but warfare and intercessory prayers).
  3. Fast regularly once a week or at least 2x a month.
  4. Pay your tithe.
  5. Attend our life group meetings faithfully.
  6. Lead your life group in the vision of discipleship - meet them regularly, bring them up toward the ladder of success; by now you should have produced life group leaders who are leading their own life groups...(if this is not happening I would be questioning your own commitment to the vision)
  7. Be submissive to and supportive of our church leaders.
  8. Be holy and not worldly - to share my convictions with regard to sexual issues and relationships, drinking and other vices (these are two of the most important matters in the youth), etc.
  9. Be disciplined in your lifestyle, ministry, family, work or school (laziness cannot be tolerated)
  10. In case something is missed, here is the ender that will cover everything - I need you to be a man/woman after God's own heart (and this is not easy).

If there is any doubt after you have read this letter, please do resign from the leadership...this is for your own good and for the good of others. If you only have a "I hope to be"or "I promise to be" attitude, please take back your commitment, too...this will save us all the other problems that will arise later. I am trying my best to really discourage you from making a step that will cost something you cannot pay. Do not let your concern of losing a good reputation keep you from backing out because really, it takes more courage to admit that it is not yet time for you than to continue with a pretentious heart. What will happen to those who will back out? You will still be a leader under the 12 and will continue to be trained until you are ripe and ready.

For those of you who think you are and who can, I still encourage you to rethink and rethink more deeply.
------------ end

NOTE # 1
This was a letter wrote years back for the YX CORE by Trixie and is still in effect.  In it are the 10 standard requirements for being in their CORE GROUP.  They are also required to review the passages - 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9;  1 Peter 5:1-4.

NOTE # 2.
If you say yes to YX core, you will be part of his 12 also (only the men leaders).

As I recruit leadership for the KINGSMEN network, I have also a version of my own.

CONFERENCES enhances LEADERS

I just came from a Conference in Manila.
It was called GDC2016ASIA [january 27-30 at CCF].
I came together with our team of 32 people!
It was amazing.
The best part was i was with my entire family in Manila (Josh, Trina, Trixie).

Here are the responses of the people who came with an open heart, wanting to receive that they may be CHANGED and be a CHANGER of the world around them as they pass on things lived out and understood.
Believe it or not, a 3 to 4 Day Conference attended to in focus and determination can change the course and direction of people.  It can change you dramatically!
I for 1 was challenged, stretched and called again to commit again and again to the very things and agenda of God [Family is 1st Discipleship Ministry; Leadership is Sacrifice (bleedership); Organizational Culture may be Altered; and that the most important of all is Christ-likness as time spent with Him in Word and Prayer].

HERE'S what some of them said after an attendance at a CONFERENCE [the GDC2016ASIA]:
  • Allen Manzanares
    • I will dig deeper in the word of God as I grow in my intimacy with Him.
    • I will lead with the mindset of leaving (your ministry is successful if you have successor).
    • Learning is progressive.
  • Glenn Arellano
    • Identify and change personal and church culture that is unhelpful to the growth of the church.
    • Equip leaders and active believers to be effective in the ministry.
  • Trixie Ramos
    • Intimacy through consistent quiet times.
    • Finishing evangelistic, discipleship and training modules.
    • Regular check up of WBTS process nationwide in YX and WOD.
  • Faith Camponion
    • 3 things I will pursue organizationally and personally:
      • 1. excellence 2. commitment 3. connection
  • Ian Cabalatungan
    • Train and equip more leaders.
    • Build up myself in relating more to other people.
    • Build up a good organizational culture.
  • Ranty Camponion
    • We need to create a team of pastors per corner to reach more and establish a satellite.
    • Increase the leaders.
    • Bring them to the top.
  • CJ Mahilum
    • Lego Principle.
    • Leadership Pain: The classroom for growth.
    • How to Finish Well.
  • Kevin Gever
    • The One thing that determines Everything - To be excellent in loving God by growing deep in His word, in prayer and communion, imitating His very character - becoming more like Him.
    • Discipleship is Relationship - To be excellent in loving people. With the intentionality of Making Disciples like Jesus and by creating an atmosphere of excellence in generational leadership.
    • Finishing Strong - By living excellently and worthy the call God has for me.
  • Daniel Bagayo
    • We all pass on something, its not a matter of "if" but a question of "what".
    • Pain is necessary. It has four levels. Declaration. Distress. Development. Demonstration. Growth = Pain
    • Excellence = repeated reality.  Its not about innovation but consistency. We don't need a new strategy but mastery.

PREACHING and PRAYING

Here's an article i read and would like to see in action during our SWE (Sunday Worship Experiences) and even all throughout the week of our congregation's life ...
READ ON ...
------------
C.H. Spurgeon - Prayer Makes History

The memory of Charles Haddon Spurgeon has been cherished among evangelical Christians for over the past 100 years. Many Christian leaders consider him to be the greatest preacher England ever produced. He is commonly hailed as the "Prince of Preachers".
Over 63 volumes of published sermons still bear witness to the richness and success of C. H. Spurgeon's ministry. Though known as a great preacher, it was not preaching that made Spurgeon great. Mr. Spurgeon repeatedly acknowledged his success as the direct result of his congregation's faithful prayers. "It has often been remarked that the whole church helped produce Spurgeon." When visitors would come to Spurgeon's church he would take them to the basement prayer-room where people were always on their knees interceding. Then Spurgeon would declare, "Here is the powerhouse of this church."

Spurgeon in his autobiography described his gratefulness for being blessed with such a praying church. "I always give all the glory to God, but I do not forget that He gave me the privilege of ministering from the first to a praying people.
We had prayer meetings that moved our very souls, each one appeared determined to storm the Celestial City by the might of intercession." Spurgeon regarded the prayer-meeting as the spiritual thermometer of a church. His church's Monday night prayer meeting had a worldwide testimony for many years. Every Monday night a large portion of Spurgeon's sanctuary was filled with earnest and fervent intercessors.

"In Spurgeon's eyes the prayer-meeting was the most important meeting of the week." It is here many of us find ourselves in conflict with dear Mr. Spurgeon. We love our meetings for preaching and praising and yet sadly neglect those set aside for praying. One of Spurgeon's greatest concerns was that his people learn to truly pray. "He taught his people to pray, doing so far more by his example than by any preaching. People heard him pray with such reality that they became ashamed of their own mere repetition of words." Throughout his entire ministry many hearers remarked that they were moved by his preaching, but yet still more affected by his praying. D. L. Moody after his first visit to England, being asked upon his return to America, "Did you hear Spurgeon preach?" He replied, "Yes, but better still I heard him pray." A close friend of Spurgeon's, commented on his prayer life, "His public prayers were an inspiration, but his prayers with the family were to me more wonderful still. Mr. Spurgeon, when bowed before God in family prayer, appeared a grander man even than when holding thousands spellbound by his oratory."

Spurgeon fully recognized that the Church's greatest need was not to have another, "Prince of Preachers", but to have more princes of prayer. One of his many published sermons expressed his feelings on this. He wrote, "Shall I give you yet another reason why you should pray? I have preached my very heart out. I could not say any more than I have said. Will not your prayers accomplish that which my preaching fails to do? Is it not likely that the Church has been putting forth its preaching hand but not its praying hand? Oh dear friends! Let us agonize in prayer . . . "

There has been much talk lately about pockets of revival springing up in our nation. Many are saying they desire such revivals in our own local churches, and cities. Yet, is it not the prayer-meeting which is still most neglected? If Christ Jesus were to visit us today with real revival power, how could such a blessing be sustained where there is no ground work laid in prayer? To merely exercise our words about revival and not our knees is hypocrisy! It is time to make the prayer-meeting as crowded as our favorite preaching and praise meetings. It is then and ONLY then, that a true revival will come with lasting power!  Like Mr. Spurgeon, let us regard the prayer-meeting as our most important meeting!

MAKE DISCIPLES using An Accountability Question Guide

MAKING DISCIPLES QUESTIONS
(what we use at HLM)
