7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore be earnest, thoughtful men of prayer.8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up for many of your faults. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay for the night.
10 God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings. 11 Are you called to preach? SERIES OVERVIEW
Global events like climate change, political chaos, more natural disasters, economic problems, a loss of morals, and other things show that things have become more difficult. You might wonder, "Are we getting close to the end?" For those who believe the end is near, how should they live? For this matter, our March series is entitled END-TIMES LIVING.

Taken from the book of 1 Peter 4:7-11, this series aims to provide a framework for living as the end draws near - living with a purposeful prayer life, a commitment to live with deep and constant love, and living a life that is committed to full of service and stewardship of the gifts, talents, and abilities that He entrusted us.

Considering the end will help one live sensibly; moreover, our way of living changes significantly when we accept the reality of life's end. It forces us to review our decisions, assess our way of life, and act immediately as required. In these challenging times and as the end draws near, build your prayer life and never get weary of showing love. While we long for the soon return of our Savior Jesus Christ, look for opportunities to serve and serve well!

1 Peter 4:7-11  CONTEXT
The context of these verses is that Peter wrote this passage to highlight how to live and be committed as Christian Bible Believers as we await the coming of the Lord anytime. Despite the sufferings and tribulations that they are experiencing in following Christ, they will stay committed and have the attitude to be faithful in prayer, love, and acts of service. This shows the unwavering commitment of a believer or follower of Christ to endure and obey Him until the day of His return.

Topic: END-TIMES LIVING:
Living in the light of the End

Verse: 1 Peter 4:7-117  The end of the world is coming soon. Then preach as though God himself were speaking through you. Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies so that God will be glorified through Jesus Christ—to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Peter is writing to Christians who suffer for Jesus' sake and those who have taken on Christ's attitude that hardships for God's cause are part of our purpose as His people. He now offers a perspective that is both encouraging and a warning: It's almost over.
So, living in the light of the end gives us the mindset and attitude of how we live our lives in awaiting our coming Savior and King—Lord Jesus Christ. We genuinely live for Christ in our prayer life, in how we love and respond to one another amid persecutions and sufferings, and in serving God with an unwavering commitment and faithfulness.
Peter reminds all Christian believers to live obediently and expectantly in the light of Christ's return. He also reminds us that Christ's return could be any moment, so we must maintain a proper eternal perspective and pursue holiness in all we do.

March 09, 2025 | Week One  | Communion Sunday

Topic: END-TIMES LIVING:
LIVING WITH PURPOSEFUL PRAYER LIFE

Verse: 1 Peter 4:7 7  The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore be earnest, thoughtful men of prayer.
Peter writes that the end of all things is near or "draws near." Everything necessary for history to come to an end has already happened. Messiah has come, lived, died (1 Peter 3:18), been resurrected (1 Peter 3:21), and ascended back to His Father where He reigns now over the universe (1 Peter 3:22) and is ready right now to judge all who live and have ever lived (1 Peter 4:5). Along with the other New Testament writers, Peter affirms that we are now living in the last days or end times. So, what is the proper response to this awareness that the end of all things is near? Panic? Isolation? Indulgence in pleasure-seeking?

Prayer is at the top of Peter's list of things he wrote in his letter. It signifies that prayer is essential in waiting for the Lord, to be watchful and prayerful, to be ready for His coming, and to endure the sufferings while waiting. It reminds us to have a mind focused and eyes fixed on God rather than ourselves and what is happening around us. Instead, believers must be self-controlled and sober-minded, devoted to prayer to maximize their usefulness in God's kingdom.

March 16, 2025 | Week Two  | Lifegroup and Divinity Sunday

Topic: END-TIMES LIVING:
Living with Deep and Constant Love

Verse: 1 Peter 4:8-9  8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up for many of your faults. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay for the night.
According to the previous verse, loving one another is also the right thing to do when you know that the end is almost here. Believers should strengthen their bonds with one another because the Day of the Lord could arrive at any moment. As a reflection of God's grace and a means to overcome shortcomings and build unity within the church, these verses also stress the significance of Christians actively and deeply loving one another, displaying this love through hospitality and service, particularly during difficult times.
Therefore, to live with deep and constant love means to forgive, overlook past hurts, and build each other up when we fall. Living with a deep and constant love for others also testifies that one is living in the light of the future.

March 23, 2025 | Week Three | Facility Sunday
Topic: END-TIMES LIVING:
Living with Sincerity to Serve

Verse: 1 Peter 4:10-11  10 God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings. 11 Are you called to preach? Then preach as though God himself were speaking through you. Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies so that God will be glorified through Jesus Christ—to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Peter continues describing how Christians should live in response to the knowledge that the end of all things is near. In this verse, Peter says we should take a different view from others about anything we might call "ours." First, he implies that we must see whatever we have as a gift from God. After all, we have nothing which God has not given to us. Second, we should see whatever we have been given as an opportunity to serve other Christians. In other words, we should not view anything "ours" as off-limits for serving other believers.
So, sincerity to serve overflows from a heart that understands love and understands that the use of our spiritual gifts is not to gain recognition for ourselves but to bless God’s people. By having this attitude, God is glorified.
