FIND A MENTOR

Proverbs 19:20 says, “Get all the advice you can and be wise the rest of your life.”

WE NEED COACHES.
WE NEED MENTORS.
WE HAVE TO ALWAYS be MENTORED.

THIS IS A BAD STATEMENT:
“I’ve learned it all. I don’t need anybody else to help me.”

THIS IS WISE:
"I need to get all the advice I can get, for me to be wiser, humble and fruitful"

Where should we be MENTORED?
- in the area of DISCIPLESHIP. HOW TO WIN AND DISCIPLE THE WORLD FOR JESUS.
- in the area of RELATIONSHIPS. HOW TO HONOR, RESPECT and VALUE our SPOUSE.
- in the area of LEGACY. HOW SHOULD WE INVEST AND GROW OUR CHILDREN TO LOVE GOD.

***FIND SOMEONE WHO IS GOOD AT THESE AREAS then link with them.
Listen, Apply, Go for the Principles expounded from the Word of God.

Do you have someone you TRUST? APPRECIATE?
LINK WITH THEM.

WHAT will YOU ASK YOUR MENTOR?
(if you already found one):
- ask them their SECRETS TO SUCCESS.
- ask them how do they MANAGE THEIR TIME.
- ask them THE TOP 3 THEY WONT LET GO in that area of life.
- ask them TO PRAY FOR YOU.
- ask them WHAT DO THEY READ.
- ask them WHAT ARE THEIR DISCIPLINES.
- ask them THEIR DREAMS.

HERE ARE OTHER QUESTIONS TO ASK:
• How do you handle STRESS?
• What have been the greatest successes IN YOUR LIFE?
• What were the CAUSES OF THOSE SUCCESSES?
• What were the GREATEST FAILURES, FEAR in your life? and how did you OVERCOME THEM?

• What would you do differently IF YOU WERE STARTING OVER AGAIN?
• What KIND OF BOOKS DO YOU READ?
• How do you manage YOUR TIME?
• How do you manage YOUR MONEY?
• What have been the GREATEST LESSONS you’ve learned?
• What have been the GREATEST SURPRISES in your life?

LOOK FOR KEYS.
LOOK FOR CLUES.
STICK TO PRINCIPLES.
FIND A MENTOR**

**wisdom note:
(A)  You can have a MENTOR in the PAST
-- A Historical Mentor (mine is John Wesley; Leonard Ravenhill to name a few).

(B)  You can have a MENTOR in the PAGES of the Bible
-- Biblical Character (mine is Jabez; Daniel; Paul; etc; and of course above all else the LORD JESUS).

(C)  You can have a MENTOR in the PRESENT
-- Living Mentors YOU PERSONALLY FOLLOW or OBSERVE
(I read their books; follow their tweets; bookmark their web pages; critique their ideas)

(D)  You can have a MENTOR in the PRIVACY of Life
-- Living Mentors YOU PERSONALLY KNOW and ALLOW TO PRAY FOR YOU and COUNSEL YOU...

IT IS WISE TO HAVE A MENTOR?
do you have one?

Remember -- this is a bad statement:
“I’ve learned it all. I don’t need anybody else to help me”

Remember -- this is a wise statement:

"I need to get all the advice I can get, for me to be wiser, humble and fruitful"
